Folks, this is a fun article. For some back-story, a couple months ago I was “decompressing” after a workout at the local “Y”. Of course, I generally wear an Ohio State logo’d tee-shirt. This gracious lady approaches me and asks if I’d attended OSU. I explained the “Ken-OSU” relationship, and she mentioned that her son […]
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Ohio State improved their record to 4-0 as they consumed Campbell, 91-64. The Buckeyes successfully handled torrid Campbell 3-point shooting and Fighting Camel persistent offensive rebounding to put this game away fairly easily. This was a game that saw the margin fluctuate between low-20′ to high-20′s for most of the 2nd […]
The #6 (CFB) Buckeyes (10-1, 7-0) host the TTUN Wolverines (5-6,3-4) Saturday for a 12:00 noon EST kickoff. Last week, Ohio State sort of edged Indiana 42-27, while TTUN lost to Maryland, 23-16 on two 4th quarter Maryland TD’s. Overview: Welcome to the end of The Brady Hoke Era. I’ll be honest, this will be […]
Our band of Big Ten pollsters decided to have one last go at it. Resident B1G cat-herder Andy Coppens of Talking Ten has compiled the results, below, for your reading enjoyment. Big Ten football enters the final week of the 2014 season, and that means we’ve reached the final power poll of the season. As […]

I have a few additional thoughts about Saturday’s win over Indiana that I want to touch upon this morning. My immediate post-game recap tends to be a stream-of-consciousness game flow effort. This has a wee bit more structure. If you need a quick refresher on Saturday’s win over Indiana, you can go here. Let’s acknowledge, again […]
And the rich just keep getting richer, and richer… Coming on the heels of the commitment of 4 star offensive lineman Matthew Burrell on last Monday, more great news came OSU’s way as 3 star offensive lineman Brandon Bowen verballed tonight to the Buckeyes. He becomes the 22nd member of the Elite ’15. In addition to Ohio […]
Welcome to this week’s edition of Weekend Wonderings. By the time you read this, the Buckeyes will be celebrating a significant win over the Hoosiers. They’d better be, at any rate. Today we have updates on The James, this week in WWI and my thoughts on profoundly different approaches to team discipline. For mood music […]
Well, it wasn’t easy, but the Ohio State Buckeyes (10-1. 7-0) beat the Indiana Hoosiers (3-8, 0-7) to claim the B1G East title, 42-27 in a game that was much closer than the score indicated. In a game that surged back and forth, to the frustration of Ohio State fans, Ohio State scored two quick […]

The #8 (CFB) Buckeyes (9-1, 6-0) host the Hoosiers of Indiana (3-7, 0-6) Saturday for a 12:00 noon EST kickoff. Just for something different, this game will kickoff at noon EST rather than 8:00 PM. Ohio State scraped by Minnesota and Indiana got rolled by Rutgers this past Saturday. Overview: I’ll be honest, this will be […]
I have a few additional thoughts about Saturday’s win over Minnesota that I want to touch upon this morning. My immediate post-game recap tends to be a stream-of-consciousness game flow effort. Maybe I’ll add an odd opinion or two. If you need a quick refresher on who won the game, here you go. I’m being odder yet today. […]
OK, folks you have a few years to get shined up and lean on your Columbus friends for tickets. Per The Columbus Dispatch:
City of Columbus, Ohio State University and Nationwide Arena officials gathered tonight in the Buckeye Hall of Fame Grill to celebrate the city’s selection to host the NCAA women’s basketball Final Four in 2018.
The NCAA made the announcement on ESPN at halftime of the Kentucky-Baylor women’s game in Lexington, Ky., and drew an ovation in the Grandview restaurant.
This is a really big deal from a prestige and financial perspective for the Columbus community.
The economic impact of a Final Four reportedly generates between $18 million and $20 million for the host city. Landing the event enhances Columbus’ image as a destination for other major events.
Congratulations to all involved who brought this tournament to Columbus. Well done.
The #20 Ohio State Buckeyes (1-0) host the Marquette Golden Eagles (1-0) Tuesday evening. This game is a rematch, of sorts, from last year when Ohio State visited Marquette and won a fairly uninspiring game 52-35. The Buckeye defense held the golden Eagles to 19% (10-53) from the field. That’s terrible shooting. Now, we’ll see […]
