The BCS is dead. Long live the BCS.
We’re in uncharted waters here, folks… the first season for the College Football Playoff, a final four selected by a committee to face off in January for the new
lipstick dispenser shiny trophy.
With 5 major conferences and only 4 available slots, who will see their champion left in the cold? Will the mighty SEC!SEC!SEC! be able to advocate for two teams to be a part of the process? And how will ESPN
help their partners cover the new configuration and coronation?
That’s way down the road, though… you’ve got to take everything one week, one game at a time. Especially if you’re going to win our 2014 tBBC Path To The Playoff Challenge.
Regular readers should know the drill- we’re using Yahoo! to keep Charles Robinson away from Columbus, and you are more than welcome to get friends involved. Here are all of the details:
We’ve got a great prize package this season, particularly for diehard Buckeye fans in training. As we mentioned in July, our winner will get a copy of Mark Rea’s newest work “Legends“. We reviewed it earlier in the summer… great read!
Also, our winner will get the revised and updated copy of “100 Things Buckeye Fans Should Know And Do Before They Die” from Associated Press and Chicago Tribune writer Andrew Buchanan. The information and anecdotes are priceless, and Buchanan even goes a long way in identifying the real “Linebacker U” in addition to talking about the highs and lows of Scarlet and Gray lore (mostly highs… because Ohio State). It also identifies the “shrines” that Ohio State football fans should visit… one of which inspired our new tBBC banner.
I read through this on a recent weekend, and was surprised at some of the historical information, particularly given my other summer read. I will admit, though, to having a good number of the 100 things checked off of my “Buckeye-List”… you should give it a read and see how you stack up.
Finally, our contest winner will be able to publish a “guest post” here… we’ve had everything from young kids to current writers be a part of our family in this way, and we’re looking forward to hearing what you’ve got to say.
Game kicks off 5 minutes before the first contest… invite friends, get involved, and good luck!
