Week 1 is in the books, and my fellow pollsters, assembled by Andy Coppens at Big Ten OT got us together to get our thoughts. Here’s what we had to say:
The Big Ten had itself one heck of a start, until Northwestern laid a complete egg against Cal at home and Wisconsin let a 24-7 lead slip away in the second half en route to a 28-24 loss to LSU in the marquee matchup of Saturday night. Overall, the conference went 12-2 and got a win out west against the Pac-12 by Rutgers.
Despite the 12-2 start to the season for the conference there were a lot of takeaways, including struggles by Illinois, Iowa and Ohio State in victories. It all led to major decisions for our distinguished panel of experts, so let’s remind you of who they are and get to the voting, huh?
