I agree with Jae’Sean, above. It wasn’t pretty, but it was a win. Ohio State rolled into University Park this evening looking to roll Penn State to maintain a shot at the #4 seed with one more game to play. They rolled back out with an exasperating (stay with me here) 77-67 win. The victory […]
The Ohio State Buckeyes (20-8, 9-6) return home to play the Purdue Boilermakers (19-9, 11-4) Sunday evening. The Boilermakers are currently in 2nd place in the Conference while the Buckeyes sit in 5th place. The Buckeyes look to get February behind them, as they treaded water with a 3-3 record, while Purdue was 5-1 during […]
The Buckeyes rolled into Penn State this evening in search of win #20 and an opportunity to move up in the B1G standings for tournament seeding. Coach McGuff’s team searched in the right place as they rolled the host Nittany Lions 88-70. This is the 3rd straight win for the fast-closing Buckeyes (20-9, 12-5) and it […]
On Wednesday, #23 Ohio State (18-6, 7-4) hosts Coach Pat Chambers and his Penn State Nittany Lions (15-9, 3-8) on Wednesday. At 7-4, Ohio State currently sits in a 4-way tie for 2nd place in the B1G. Penn State currently is in 12th place. The Buckeyes need a win to keep pace with the top […]
The Buckeye Battle Cry Radio Hour is back this week to talk about B1G Basketball. It’s been a strange season, and joining us to help break it down is our pal Andy Coppens from Talking 10.
Andy and I talk how the league has changed over the last three years and how despite the B1G being down, it’s good that there are four or five freshman that are really talented to help this league grow.
We also break down the latest hoops action and how Wisconsin continues to roll in conference play. Frank Kaminsky is a candidate for Player of the Year and is well deserving, but Andy believes he should be in talks for National Player of the Year.
Finally, we break down the importance of tonight’s match up with Maryland and Ohio State and how many teams from the B1G will make it to the dance in March.
That and so much more on this episode of The Buckeye Battle Cry Radio Hour

The last time these teams met, December 30th , Ohio State was ranked in top 20. Now, no. Since the loss to Iowa, Ohio State (14-4, 3-2) has gone 3-1, with a recent demolishing of Michigan 71-52. The Hawkeyes (12-5, 3-1) have gone 2-1, recently edging Minnesota 77-75. Here is the previous matchup preview and […]
Coming off a pretty good evening for OSU’s football team, the basketball team hosted UM. Not University of Maryland, the other guys. Regardless, the Buckeyes entered the game focused and aggressive, and left the game with a 71-52 win. The win improves Ohio State to (14-4, 3-2) while dropping Michigan to (10-7, 3-2). The Buckeyes […]
The Ohio State Buckeyes (13-4, 2-2) host the Michigan Wolverines (10-6, 3-1) in Value City Arena tonight. The Buckeyes are coming off a 69-66 loss to Indiana on Saturday. Meanwhile, Michigan edged Minnesota 62-57 , also on Saturday. Last season, Ohio State dropped both games to Michigan; 70-60 at Crisler during the regular season and 72-69 in […]

Ohio State (10-5) is now undefeated in 2015, after beating Northwestern (12-2) 73-64 to claim their 6th win in 7 games and moving to 2-1 in Big Ten Play. After the take-down of Rutgers on New Year’s Day, Ohio State is showing that opponent records be damned, let’s take to the floor and play this […]
Ohio State clanked the end to 2014 with a 71-65 loss to Iowa on Tuesday. This afternoon they had an opportunity to start 2015 in a positive fashion by hosting the Fighting Illini of the University of Illinois. And positive it was, as Ohio State beat Illinois 77-61 to move to 12-3 on the season and […]
tBBC is proud to be apart of this year’s Talking 10 Power Poll. Each Week, Ken and Joe will place their votes on where each basketball team stands in the B1G conference. Here is our first poll of the year, as published by Andy Coppens at Talking 10 — with a couple of our thoughts […]
Andy Coppens and I are at it again folks. Throwing rocks at the Minnesota athletic department, and raving about Tom Crean’s horrible hairdo…. or execution… one of the two. If I was on my A game, we would of touched on both. Thanks to Andy for having me on again, make sure you check out […]
After Ohio State lost to Kansas, head coach Thad Matta made a change to his starting lineup. Out of the starting lineup–at the center position–went fifth-year senior Evan Ravenel and in came sophomore Amir Williams. In Williams’ first start, an 87-44 victory against Chicago State, he scored just four points and grabbed four rebounds, but […]
