CFB LiveBlog: Wisconsin at MSU

Written October 22nd, 2011 by Eric

In lieu of the lack of Scarlet and Gray football we’re running a liveblog on the best game available – Wisconsin and Michigan State! At the very least, it gives us an opportunity to scout Wisconsin going into the Buckeye game.

Remember that the Buckeyes want Michigan State to win to help improve their chances at a B1G Championship. Not that we’ll judge you if you decide to root for the Badgers instead.

What am I saying? Of course we will.

The LiveBlog will kick off at 7:30 pm eastern time for the 8:00 pm matchup.

Spring Game LiveBlog

Written April 23rd, 2011 by Eric

It’s the day we’ve been waiting for since Solomon Thomas picked off a pass to seal the Sugar Bowl win. The Buckeyes take the field again to bat around the pigskin in the annual team scrimmage.

As Graham pointed out yesterday, the format for this spring game is completely different than any we have seen before. The scoring will be different than any other football game, which will make it a unique experience for those of us watching.

The Spring Game will air on the Big Ten Network at 1:30 PM Eastern Time. Our LiveBlog today will kickoff at 1:00 PM. Make sure to stop by and enjoy the game with us!

National Championship LiveBlog

Written April 2nd, 2011 by Eric

This season marked our first official run of Basketball LiveBlogs on the Buckeye Battle Cry.    And what a first year it was!   A strong Basketball team, plus several years of Football LiveBlogging experience, made these an absolute blast.

Three blogs joined us from the beginning – Silver Bullet, Our Honor Defend and Fox Sports Ohio – and how lucky we were to have their support.  Without their help, these LiveBlogs don’t come anywhere close to what they finally became.  Eventually Scarlet and Game, a newer member to the OSU blogging family, and Men of the Scarlet and Gray joined us as well and helped send these LiveBlogs into the stratosphere.

While the OSU sports are done for the season, we simply can’t quit the LiveBlogs yet.  On Monday night, we will run the final LiveBlog of the 2010-2011 season by covering the National Championship game.  Think of it as one last chance to make fun of the commentators with all of your favorite OSU sports buddies!

You may notice that we’ve posted an add for the LiveBlog on the right sidebar of the website (you’ll also find it below, in this post).  Look there in the future for our next upcoming LiveBlog for both Football and Basketball.  You can also set it to give you an email reminder!  Isn’t technology wonderful these days?

For those who haven’t yet taken the time to stop by and see what all the excitement is about, you’re missing quite the show.  You should sneak a peak during this National Championship game!  If you don’t, you’ll just have to wait until September for the next one (or the Spring “Game”, if it’s televised).

For all of you who joined us for our LiveBlogs this year, thank you for making them so successful!  We absolutely couldn’t have done it without you!

Basketball LiveBlog: Northwestern B1G Tournament

Written March 11th, 2011 by Eric

Welcome to your first B1G Tournament LiveBlog!  The Buckeyes will be facing the Northwestern Wildcats in the early game matchup today.  This is exactly the same time slot the Buckeyes had when they played Michigan into a last second Evan Turner buzzer beater.  No, we’re not kidding you Dave O’Brien!

Again, special thanks to OSU Silver Bullet, Our Honor Defend, Scarlet and Game, and Fox Sports Ohio for joining us in these liveblogs!

The game tips off at Noon Eastern Time on ESPN.  Our LiveBlog starts at 11:30 AM.

Basketball LiveBlog: Indiana Redux

Written February 27th, 2011 by Eric

Welcome to today’s LiveBlog! The Buckeyes welcome the Indiana Hoosiers into the friendly confines of Value City Arena for a rematch of their late December meeting. The Hoosiers are desperately looking for another conference so they can match last season’s success. You just know a victory over the Buckeyes in Columbus would be icing on the cake.

As usual, we’re joined in the LiveBlog by OSU Silver Bullet, Our Honor Defend, Scarlet & Game and Fox Sports Ohio. Make extra certain to stop by the Silver Bullet and congratulate Drew on his recent marriage! (Congrats Drew!)

The game tips at 4:00 PM Eastern Time, LiveBlog at 3:30.

Basketball LiveBlog: Illinois Redux

Written February 22nd, 2011 by Eric

Welcome to today’s Basketball LiveBlog! Surprised? You shouldn’t be! The Buckeyes have a quick turnaround after the rough loss to Purdue, and must now play Illinois at home. This is a great practice run for the NCAA tournament, with two tough games in a two day spacing.

And you better believe the Illini are going to put up a struggle, fighting for their tournament lives. A win over OSU, especially in Columbus, might be enough to sneak them in.

The game starts at 7:00 PM Eastern, LiveBlog starts at 6:30.
