If you get the chance to go to the birthplace of College Football, you’ve got to take it, right? So, thanks to a friend’s dad who is a proud Rutgers Alumni, your humble correspondent headed from coast to coast to watch the Buckeyes do the same to the Scarlet Knights. The Buckeye Battle Cry Radio Hour has no idea who it will vote for in 2016, but we sure do know one thing. Ohio State Football taking over the White House and being presented to the world by Barack Obama.
Joe Dexter is back with another Radio Hour, reviewing the Buckeyes’ special day at the White House and the latest happenings for OSU and College Football. To Start things off, MaliBuckeye swings by to talk about the latest Braxton Miller to Alabama rumors and what the latest news when it comes to “Cost of Admission” across college football and allowing institutions to pay athletes more money beyond Cost of Admission.
Then, we break down Saturday’s fantastic spring game with our friend Shannon Sommers, who covers OSU athletics for Men of the Scarlet and Gray. Shannon was at Ohio Stadium last week and gave us his thoughts on the atmosphere. He also shared his thoughts on the offensive side of the ball, the game plan for a glorified practice, if you can even evaluate a defense in a game like this, and so much more.
We also talk about the 2015 season and the embarrasment of riches at Ohio State. We discuss where Ezekiel Elliott will end up in the Heisman race and if he can be Urban Meyer’s first 2,000 yard rusher.
And of course, we talk about the three-headed monster that is the quarterback position.
Shannon and I also share our thoughts on D’Angelo Russell declaring for the NBA draft and how that will affect Thad Matta’s squad next season.
Speaking of basketball, the Buckeyes have landed two verbal commitments over the last few weeks from the class of 2016. Late last week after the Spring Game, big man Micah Potter made his voice heard by committing to Ohio State.
To break down the latest in basketball recruiting, we welcome in Zach Fleer, who covers the Ohio prep scene for Prep Hoops Ohio and is also a basketball analyst at Land Grant Holy Land. Zach shares his thought on Potter and what role he can play in the future of the OSU program.
We also discuss the fantastic class of 2015 and how guards A.J. Harris, JaQuan Lyle and Austin Grandstaff will fit together next season.
